The circle of color seems to be more of a focusing
point; where the rings are secondary but still in unison. Cannot
have a ring without a circle of color and vice a versa. Maybe the circle
of color is the heart chakra and the rings relate to the other chakras.
OR-
The circle of color is the physical body while
the rings represent the etheric, emotional, mental, astral, celestial and
ketheric bodies. Each ring maybe a past life. You can use Obsidian
to tap into these lives to see where one went wrong and correct the behavior.
A mirror which reflects our weaknesses, allowing us to become aware of our dark side. Obsidian is associated with negativity because of this. People are fearful of their dark side so they avoid Obsidian. Being Obsidian is natural glass, it seems it would allow one clarity into their lives. It is from a volcanic flow, so therefore Obsidian could help us to flow with life.
Numerology- Rainbow Obsidian vibrates to the number 2 which is about harmony and gentleness, a willingness to cooperate and to be thoughtful of each other. Togetherness…
Gemological Properties-
Obsidian is a natural glass and can have no crystal structure in the general
sense of the term, and can thus have no cleavage. The hardness is
a five on Moh's scale. The luster is vitreous; the refractive index
lies between the limits of 1.48 and 1.51, but is usually near 1.49.
The specific gravity is between 2.33 and 2.42. Obsidian is wide spread
throughout the world at those places where volcanic activity occurs or
has occurred in the past.
Numerology- Oligoclase vibrates to the master number 44. Metamorphosis and change.
Gemological Properties-
Oligoclase is a mineral species in the plagioclase series of the feldspar
group. It appears to be transparent to opaque and is found in yellow, orange
to brown and brownish red; sometimes colorless or white to light green
or gray. The crystal system is triclinic and the chemical composition
varies between NaSlSi3O8 and CaAl2Si2O8. The refractive index is
1.559-1.547 and offers a specific gravity of 2.70. The hardness is
a 6-6.5. The major sources for Oligoclase are Finland, Canada, USA,
Kenya and Madagascar.
Now a little about Peruvian pink opal because it is rather unique in the opal family of stones. Despite being pink its not a soft, calming "cotton wool" kind of energy - rather its incredibly vibrant and stimulating - it raises the spirits and elevates your mood. I always find I smile around this stone - I don't know why but it just makes you smile - you can't help it or resist it.
Some have described it as a type of euphoria and I suppose that's true but not of the kind where you "check your brain at the door" - its just like it attunes you to the pulse of love and produces this almost immediate shift of mood.
Aside from its benefit as a mood enhancer, Peruvian Pink Opal/ite teaches us not to judge a book by its cover - to set aside our preconceived expectations and see things for what they truely are. That is far more important than it sounds because our expectations (either of good or bad things happening) limit our experiences. A terrific opportunity may be staring you in the face but because of your assumptions and expectations - mostly due to the past - you ignore it, assuming that it will just turn out like all the other times. Or indeed you might expect something will be terrific because it has been before and hence jump in "boots and all" into something you should not have done. Peruvian Pink Opal/ite helps you see things as they really are - giving emotional clarity, free from judgement and past experiences - free from assumptions and expectations.
It also helps in balancing giving and receiving. Often we get caught in one or the other and its not uncommon for healers to get trapped into the giving side because we feel thats what we should be doing - ignorning the receiving and depleting ourselves in the process. Peruvian Pink Opal/ite helps not only to balance that but also to get us to see that both are necessary and part of wholeness - and there is nothing to be gained in being the martyr.
This aspect is a manifestation of this stones ability to translate and balance. Whether its translating ebb into flow and visa versa or translating what you're hearing with your ears into what you know in your heart - or indeed I suppose translating languages. An awful lot of our lives get "lost in translation" - between people, from the higher energies to the lower, within ourselves between intent and action. This mineral helps with that process.
I suppose that's all summed up in saying that Peruvian Pink Opal/ite
helps us to release the distortions and see things (particularly emotions
and love) from a clearer, more balanced, and truer perspective. And when
you see that, you can't help but smile :-)
ANTOLIAN WHITE OPAL FROM TURKEY
Metaphysically speaking, Anatolian White Opal (or Turkish white opal as its sometimes called though this piece comes from the region that used to be known as Anatolia), is considered to be a Stone of Balanced Emotions. They say it can even out or balance mood swings and stop you from getting easily upset - and I think that is part of what I sensed in this stone. Its meant to be a good choice in dream work and meditative journeys because of this balance - allowing you to look at emotionally upsetting things with a level of detachment which can be useful. It also encourages us to see the wholeness within ourselves - embodied in the white which is the combination of all colours. It helps us understand and appreciate the best that we can be in all aspects of life - but do that without the empassioned drive that over accompanies this. Rather to simply move with the flow, perfectly balanced and stable, dispassionately striving to continually improve.
As I said earlier, I find it to be a very noble stone - which I suppose
is only logical given where it comes from. Anatolia is known to be
one of the oldest continually inhabited regions of the world and was considered
to be part of the Fertile Crescent - the cradle of civilization.
About 8000 years BC the Anatolians were the fountainhead of esoteric tradition
and white opal, along with obsidian were two of their most revered and
sacred stones.
Numerology- Vibrates to the number 5. Freedom and travel.
Gemological Properties- Opal is a mineral species which is amorphous in structure, (without form). It has a chemical composition of SiO2.nH2O. (water content usually 3 to 14% by weight, but sometimes as high as 20%). It is transparent to opaque in appearance and is usually seen cut into cabochons, carvings, and beads and is occasionally faceted. Refractive index is around 1.450 but can go as low as 1.42 depending on the type of Opal. The specific gravity is 2.15 and the hardness is soft, being a 5. Opal is very sensitive to heat or sudden change in temperature. Never clean your Opal jewelry in an ultrasonic cleaner, it will crack the Opal. This Opal stone is from Peru.
Numerology- Fire Opal vibrates to the number 1. Number 1 is about new beginnings and leadership. One with strong will-power and determination.

This one is a Mexican Fire Opal.
Opal has been known for many years to be an emotional body stone, thought of as flowing and water-like because it is amorphous (with out crystal structure). Not much has been written about the healing benefits of this stone as to date, I would now like to add my thoughts on the metaphysical side of this magical stone.
I love the gentle energy of the Oregon Opal, it
does not hit you over the head like some stones do, it gently resonates
with your energy field in a subtle way. It has allowed me to tap
into my spiritual side. It has opened my eyes to the beauty in nature,
made me realize that I am not alone, I am apart of the Universe.
My fears and thoughts of being alone has diminished, I am no longer afraid.
What I am really excited about working with the Oregon Opal is that it
has made me aware of my life's purpose. I am one of those people
who have for so long questioned their life's path. This Opal has
shown me that I have been
on the correct path all along! My love
of gemology, gemstones, crystals, and teaching has all come together!
I am so excited about what I do that I cannot help but to share with everyone
my excitement and the joy of working with crystals and gemstones. I have
truly found myself!
