Gemological Properties- Amazonite belongs to the family of minerals called Feldspar.  It is actually a Microcline Feldspar.  The appearance is semi-translucent to opaque with a light green to greenish blue color; many times displaying grid-like white streaks and a faint sheen.   This stone is usually cut into cabochons, beads and carvings and is found in Brazil, Madagascar, Norway, USSR and in the USA.

Can also be used on the second chakra where it allows us to align with the original blueprint or soul song.  So use on 2nd will align with the soul song and use on the throat will communicate that outwards.  Alignment with the blueprint is perhaps one of its most important healing tasks - many things happen, particularly traumas which can misalign us with our "divine path".  Trauma in particular can create "broken paths" which in turn can create disease and a sense of seperation or aimlessness.  Astrophyllite can work on this to re-align our lives and bodies to that pathway - bring it back to the way and intent of the soul.
On the throat where the blueprint is communicated outward and we sing or live our soulsong then this energy can clean and clear personal spaces - getting rid of dischordant energy and bringing it into alignment with ourselves.

Used on the crown chakra it can link us to the stars - to the greater light. It asks us to consider our legacy - what are we leaving behind for those who will come after us. I like to use Amber as a protection stone; it serves as a protective shield against taking on others pain in healing sessions.  You can easily clear (draw out negative energy) and protect your healing space, room, or office with Amber.  To do so, simply hold in your right hand (projection hand) a piece of Amber.  Imagine a bright golden light emanating from the Amber to the center of the room, corners, and ceiling.  As you do this, focus your intent on clearing the space of unwanted energies.  You may wish to say a short affirmation, I use this one; "May the golden light of Amber clear away unwanted energies and replace them with love and protection, So Be It."    This is great to do before meetings or at discussion groups where ideas are being exchanged as it brings clarity to aid in decision making.

Gemological Properties- Amber is the fossilized hardened resin of the Pine Tree, Pinus Succinifera, formed in the Eocene period about 50 million years ago.  Amber is usually light yellow to brown in color, but can also be in shades of red, blue, black and green.  It is organic in nature and does not have a crystal system; it is considered to be amorphous (without form).  Amber is usually found shaped as nodules, often with a weathered crust.  It is sometimes found with inclusions of insects and other organic matter such as parts of plants.  The largest deposit in the world is found in Eastern Poland; but Amber also occurs in burma, The Dominican Republic, The USA and on the sea beds of the Baltic Sea.

AMETHYST CRYSTALS-  Amethyst crystal points are often used by those who are beginning their spiritual awakening.  It is used to access the higher dimension of the self through meditation.  Use for connecting with spirit guides and angels, great for meditation.  Some like to place an amethyst point on the third eye to focus the energy of this center.

THE COLOR VIOLET
Violet is the highest spiritual color and vibration, denoting power within, psychic and inner development, influence and transcendence.  Some say the color violet represents the "flame of transmutation" that burns negativity and makes new growth possible.  Others feel it is a color that brings one closer to the goddess/god in all of us or the intuitive skill of knowing the goddess and god within. There are no negative attributes to this color.  What is interesting is that violet is composed of red, blue and purple.  Depending on the main color of your violet stone, for example red.  It would also help to bring energy into your system.  If the main color of your 'violet' stone is blue, then it will bring you strong inspirational creativity.  And if your stone is more purple or a lighter tone of violet it symbolizes a developed love and respect for others.  For physical healing you would use a violet gemstone to aid stress and all stress related diseases, as well as mental disorders, tumors and diseases of the head and skull, and high blood pressure.

Meditation- Here is an easy meditation to use with your Ametrine that will help you to meet the God/Goddess within.
Enter the meditative state holding your violet gemstone in your left hand, (this can be an amethyst or any of the others I have listed above.)  Cast a violet aura of peace and protection all around you, while you are doing this ask your goddess/god to come fourth.  Visualize your deity cast in the color of your gemstone and begin asking any questions that you may have.  I like to ask for wisdom, peace and understanding.  When you are finished know in your heart that you and your god/goddess are one.

Ametrine is both Amethyst and Citrine, making for a desirable gemstone.  Most of the Ametrine on the market is from Mexico.

Anhydrite Healing Meditation
I want you to take the phone off the hook, turn the lights down, light a candle, and you may wish to put on some relaxing music.  I suggest you do your healing meditation in your bedroom or wherever you feel most relaxed.  Now I want you to take your stones and lie on your bed or floor.  Place the Anhydrite on your belly chakra 2 inches below your navel.  Make sure the tip of the Anhydrite is pointed towards your feet. Hold a quartz crystal in each hand and close your eyes, it is time for you're healing visualization.

Now that you are relaxed, I want you to visualize in your minds eye, a beautiful golden cloud hovering above your head.  This golden cloud is filled with warm, loving, healing energy from the Universe.  Note its bright golden color and how it makes you feel warm and comfortable.  Now watch this golden cloud as it floats down through your head, it is swirling though your head bringing you a feeling of love and healing.  Know that you are protected and loved.  Keep watching this golden cloud as it floats down through your neck and shoulders.  Allow the energy of this cloud to release all of the toxins from your physical body.
Now the cloud is floating down through your chest and belly giving you the feeling of warmth and love.
The golden cloud is now floating down through your pelvic area and branches off into both legs.
Again, watch this cloud as it slowly makes it way down each leg into your feet.  Allow this cloud to swirl through each foot as you feel them becoming warmer and lighter.  Finally, release this golden energy through the bottoms of your feet allowing it to absorb into the Earth.  Lie still for awhile and when you are ready to open your eyes do so, take the Anhydrite off of your body, set the quartz crystals down and you are finished!  This exercise takes around 30 minutes.  I would like you to do it each day; evenings would be the best.

Gemological Properties- Anhydrite is a calcium sulfate.  Crystals are rare and most specimens are simply cleavage masses ranging in hue from colorless to blue.    The crystals above are from cleaving the large masses which occur in Mexico.

Numerology- Apatite vibrates to the number 9.  This is a very spiritual number as well as one of endings.

Gemological Properties- Apatite is from the Greek ‘apate’ or deceit, because it is often mistaken for other gemstone species.  The chemical composition is Ca3(F,CI,) (PO4)3.  The refractive index is 1.636 and offers a hardness of 5 on the Moes’ Scale.  Apatite is a very abundant stone, found all over the world.  However the main gemstone suppliers are Mexico, Brazil, and Burma. 

THE COLOR LIGHT BLUE
Light Blue is the color of the 5th chakra, or throat center.  I like to think of this color as one of creative expression and communication.  Symbolically this color stands for freedom and intelligence linked with feeling.  This means that light blue allows us to understand our feelings and the freedom associated with thought through expression!  Mentally, this color is associated with the ability to trust your intuition and to make changes more easily; we can all use this! Those who are drawn to light blue may have a need for peace, calmness and of course expression.  Use this color to bring the aspects of your life into full circle, allow the energies of light blue to aid you on your journey of personal growth.

Gemological Properties-  This stone is a from of Anhydrite found in white and blue masses, usually nodules.  Most of this material is from Peru, however I have seen nodules from Madagascar.

APOPHYLLITE CLUSTERS-  Apophyllite clusters are said to be a 'soul level healer'. It is a crystal that puts us in touch with the knowing and inner wisdom on a soul level. It also allows one to become aware of their own spirituality as well as the spirituality of family.  Brings a feeling of connectedness between one and the Universe.

Numerology- This stone vibrates to the number 4.  This is a hard working number with much structure.

Gemological Properties- Apophyllite’s chemical composition is Kca4F(Si4O10).8H2O.  Apophyllite is from the family of minerals referred to as the Zeolite Group.   The hardness is fairly soft, being only a 4.5 on the Moe’s Scale of Hardness.  These particular Apophyllites are colorless, also some are faint pink or green.   The refractive index lies at 1.535 and the specific gravity is 2.3.  The main gem grade deposits are from India, however, Zeolites occur all over the world in low-grade material.

Gemological Properties-  The chemical composition is (Ca,Mn,Fe)3AI2(OH)(BO3)(Si4O12).  Essentially a calcium aluminum hydroxyl boro-silicate.  Whew!  The crystal system is triclinic, the hardness is 6.5-7 on the Moe’s Scale of hardness, refractive index runs 1.684 and specific gravity is 3.2.  The main finds are Brazil, Madagascar and California, USA.

Gemological Properties- The chemical composition is Cu3(OH)2(CO3)2, a copper hydroxyl carbonate.
This mineral occurs in the monoclinic crystal system and is commonly seen in sharp lustrous crystals and nodules.  The refractive index runs 1.730 and the specific gravity is 3.77.  Azurite is a very soft stone, only a 3.5 on the Moe’s Scale of Hardness.  The color is an intense indigo blue, in large crystals appearing almost black.  However for this discussion we are referring to the brightly colored indigo nodules from Arizona.  The main suppliers are indeed Arizona,  South Australia and Mexico.

Gemological Properties- Aquamarine belongs to the ‘Beryl’ family of minerals.  Its chemical composition is Be3Al2(SiO3)6; a beryllium, aluminum, silicate that crystallizes as six sided prisms in the hexagonal crystal system.  Aquamarine is usually transparent, but can also be translucent or opaque.  Aquamarine means ‘sea water’ in Latin.  The hardness of Aqua is 7 ½ on the Moh’s scale and the density lies between the range of 2.68-2.71.  Its luster is vitreous and the typical color range is a clear sky blue to a beautiful bluish-green.  Aquamarine occurs all over the world; from South America, Russia, Madagascar, and the USA, just to name a few.
